Unveiling the De Rijke & Co. Capri Collection: A Fusion of Art and Timekeeping
The world of horology is abuzz with the unveiling of the Capri collection by Dutch watchmaker de Rijke & Co. This collection is a testament to the brand's innovative approach, blending art and functionality seamlessly. The Capri collection is a masterpiece of design, inspired by the cinematic charm and timeless elegance of the island it's named after.
A Minimalist Masterpiece
The Capri watch is a testament to minimalist design. Its compact 28.5mm width, 38mm length, and 6.5mm thickness create a sleek silhouette that is both understated and captivating. Traditional lugs are replaced by integrated sculptural extensions, ensuring a seamless and harmonious design. Even the caseback screws are cleverly hidden behind the strap, preserving the watch's geometric purity.
Sculptural Dial and Crystal
The dial takes center stage with its curved profile, mirroring the crystal's contour. This design creates a mesmerizing play of light and depth, adding a three-dimensional dimension to the watch. The dial is available in three captivating versions: black onyx stone, black aventurine, and Capri Blue lacquer. All surfaces are polished to perfection, enhancing the overall refinement.
The Capri Blue variant stands out with its vivid hue, featuring applied baton indices, a sleek handset, and a recessed, snailed small seconds subdial with a red hand. The other two variants offer a minimalist approach with hours and minutes only, openworked hands, and no hour markers.
Mechanical Excellence
Powering the Capri series is the La Joux-Perret D100 or D101, a hand-wound calibre that represents a refined alternative to the classic Peseux 7001. This movement is slim, beautifully finished, and reliable, complementing the Capri's elegant proportions. With its fine decoration and engineering, the D100 adds mechanical substance to the watch's artistic design, operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour and offering a 50-hour power reserve.
Limited Edition and Pricing
Each Capri model is a limited edition, with only 50 pieces per dial version. The watch is priced at EUR 2,195 (excl. VAT) and is expected to be delivered in March 2026. For more information, visit derijkeandco.com.
